The lightweight core is strengthened and stiffened with wooden stringers, while retaining its lightweight float. This thicker larger volume board has great buoyancy which makes catching waves easier, as well as making balance while surfing easier. Closed cell foam helps prevent water penetrating to the core if the board should get dinged.
